The Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in New York continues to perform its usual duties as Foreign Mission of the Republic of Liberia responsible for offering, in accordance with the local laws and with international laws, certain public services in its area of jurisdiction. These services offered include the promotion of the interest of Liberia and seeking the well-being of its nationals in the receiving state, the development of Liberia’s Economic, Commercial and Cultural relations, as well as Trade Promotion within these areas.
Its Consular duties include the issuance of visas, birth affidavit, laissez-passer, notarial services, investment inquiries, issuance of Biometric Liberian passports to its citizens, and to attend and participate in meetings of interest to the Government of Liberia.
The Consulate General is composed of different sections, such as: the Administrative/Financial section, the Consulate section, the Cultural, the Trade Promotion Section and the Community Relation Section.
As regards its continuing duties in meeting the needs of Liberians in this jurisdiction, the Consulate maintains cordial relations with the Officials of the State and the City of New York, New York City Commission for the United Nations, Consular corps and Protocol, the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York, the Chamber of Commerce, and the United States Homeland Security (USHS)
