Liberian Consulate General Meets Head of Global New York Chamber of Commerce

 

New York; Tuesday, March 24, 2026: The Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia welcomed hosted Mr. Samat Umirzakov, President of the Global New York Chamber of Commerce who is also the President of the African Investment and Trade Council in New York, and his colleague, the Managing Director of the Africa Investment and Trade Council. The meeting was held in the office of the Consul General, Prof. Thomas Kaydor, Jr.; Ph.D. and attended by Consul Rennie M. Thomson, Head of Economic Diplomacy and Michelle Cruz-Valenzuela,  Executive Assistant to the Consul General. 

Mr. Samat Umirzakov (https://globalnewyork.org/corporate/president) is a highly accomplished entrepreneur, a Wall Street investor, and the President of the Global New York Chamber of Commerce as well as the President of the Africa Investment and Trade Council in New York.  Mr. Umirzakov is known for his multinational business background and intercultural knowledge in navigating Wall Street and linking developing countries to global investment initiatives.

He possesses extensive and credible experience in driving huge private capital development initiatives in industrial development, social infrastructure and trade and investment promotion. As a dedicated global investor,  Mr. Umirzakov guides young entrepreneurs and paves the way for innovative collaboration, and sustainable economic growth and development. He owns several major manufacturing industries across Asia and Europe. Although he hails from Asia, he is enthusiastic about investment and trade in Africa.

The Consulate General and Mr. Umirzakov with team mutually agreed to collaborate in advancing economic development in Liberia by attracting investors from New York to investment opportunities in Liberia in lieu of the ARREST Agent for Inclusive Development (AAID)-the National Development Agenda for the Republic of Liberia.
