New York, December 2, 2001: The Consul General, Prof. Thomas Kaydor, Ph.D., of the Republic of Liberia Consulate General near New York City, together with other Ambassadors, Consul Generals, United Nations and New York City Officials, were honoured to attend the invitation organized by Ms. Aissata Camara, Commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office for International Affairs, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hillman, President & CEO of the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York, this morning.
The visit allowed diplomats in New York City to tour the Historic Memorial Museum and get full briefing and better appreciation of the mournful incident that occurred at the Twin Tower on September 11, 2001. During the 9/11 Memorial Museum visit this morning, Commissioner Camara paid tribute to the memories of all victims of that mournfully terrible incident and encouraged diplomats to bring their families to visit the Memorial Museum and bring visiting guests from their home states or countries to also catch a glance of the Historic Memorial Museum.
The Diplomatic Community graciously appreciated the New York City Commissioner for International Affairs and promised to ensure that their various families and visiting delegations to New York take advantage of visiting the Memorial Museum in Lower Manhattan. The 9/11 Memorial Museum is a tribute of remembrance to honour the approximately 3,000 people who unfortunately got killed during the bombing saga. The Memorial Museum also recognizes the bravery of all those volunteers and service providers who survived the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001.
The 9/11 Memorial Museum is considered the most tragic event in the history of New York City and has a profound and lasting inter-generational impact in history of not only New York City, but also the World at large.
