Pet Clearance

To obtain Pet Clearance to import pet animals into Liberia:

  1. Secure a HEALTH CERTIFICATE issued by a duly licensed veterinarian in the United States or the U.S. Department of Agriculture dated not more than 30 days before arrival in Liberia. It should certify that the animal is free from, and has not been recently exposed to, any dangerous or communicable disease, and that it has been given anti-rabies and other required inoculations. This will be presented upon arrival.

  2. Must have proper documentation of pet containing the following information:
    • species and breed of animal
    • sex, color and number of pets
    • expected date of arrival

  3. The Fee is $100.00 per pet. Money Order Only payable to the Liberian Consulate in NY. ALL Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Prof. Thomas S. B. Kaydor, Ph.D.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Kaydor, Jr. is the Consul General for the Republic of Liberia at the Consulate-General near New York. He is an Associate Professor at the IBB Graduate School of International Studies. He holds a PhD from the Department of Government and European Studies, New University, Slovenia where he specialized in International Development and Diplomacy (with Security Aspects). His dissertation topic was ‘Reconceptualizing Africa’s Regional Integration for Peace and Sustainable Development.’ This dissertation was supervised by Prof. Dr. Gorazd Justinek who was also then Dean of the Faculty of Government and European Studies. Dr. Tom Kaydor earned his second master’s in public policy (MPP) specialized in Development Policy or Development Economics with Distinction from the Crawford School of Economics and Government (now the Crawford School of Public Policy), Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He obtained his first master’s degree as a Master of Arts (MA) in International Relations (Highest Distinction) from the IBB Graduate School of International Studies, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) Magna Cum Laude in Political Science with emphasis in Comparative Government and Politics from the University of Liberia where his Minor was History with Mass Communication as his Elective. Dr. Kaydor holds a Diploma in Leading Economic Growth from the Kennedy Graduate School, Harvard University, USA; a Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy and Negotiations from the Islamabad Foreign Service Academy in Pakistan and he holds other professional diplomas and certificates from Italy, UK, China, and Israel. Prof. Kaydor is also an Adjunct Professor of International Development Studies at the AME University Graduate School, and the Stella Maris Polytechnic Graduate Program in International Relations and Global Security. Dr. Kaydor is an evidence-based researcher, a blogger, a columnist, and a published author.
